Lauren 02/06 15 You and me

Sixteen months.
I could barely speak
I couldn’t say how I felt
I was lethargic, deprived of sleep
You kept me up all night, every night.

Sorry, blame it on me you would say
How could I forgive?
I knew you would never leave
You were inside me
I had fallen into your trap.

You warned me
I knew the consequences
We fought, and after
We kissed and made up.

The doctor contacted
Asking how I was getting along with you
Just fine, I would say
We’re inseparable.
He would laugh
Say how well we seemed to get along and how you never put a foot wrong
You did though, but I encouraged you

We would be bad
We would go out late at night
Hunting
Foraging through the moonlit sky
Hunting your prey.
I didn’t want to, but you did
And you controlled me.

Now
I control you
I never let you go astray
You stay with me, right by my side.

You are like the Sun
You rise and you fall
You paint colours
Colours of red, blue
You paint my emotions.

But I know why
I can solve the answer from your demanding questions
I can read your mind

Something faulty inside me
I know
But I repair it, everyday
By myself
Mechanic? No
I am a common vehicle
With a faulty part.
