Diabetes can be hard,
Especially if you've had a bad start.
It's an uphill battle everyday,
But Type 1 is here to stay.
Even when in bar, restaurant or pub
People look at me and start to gulp.
"Look at her! What has she done
Stuck a needle in her tum?"
But I'm not a freak
I'm just like you, a normal person too.
This is a part of me,
Visit diabetes UK , go and see,
They help people of any age
To manage diabetes and behave.
So you see, it's not that bad
Diabetes does not mean you are mad.
You've got it for a reason
because your unique.
It just takes a while to find your feet!
