DIABETES ESSAY AND POEM COMPETITION 2009

Callum 13/05 10 I am not alone!

I wondered what was happening,as the sweat ran down my face,
I'd done this many times before, and even won the race.
I felt so tired and thirsty, when I finally got home
I asked my mum whats wrong with me?
As she reached out for the phone.
She asked the doctor to come out and see my little lad,
I've never been so worried, and never felt so bad.
Many years have past since then,
and many times I've cried,
Im still not cured of what I've got,
but at least i have'nt died.
I think of all the good things that life has given me,
My mum,my dad and brother,
and a WONDERFUL family !!
