DIABETES ESSAY AND POEM COMPETITION 2009

Rachel 28/04 9 My brother Ryan

My brother Ryan has diabetes,
He’s not allowed to eat any sweeties,
His blood sugars sometimes are so high,
Thank heavens it’s not I

He moans and groans about his condition,
He really needs a dietician,
The choc ices and cakes will have to go,
He’s finally hit an all time low

To get Ryan to use a needle,
Sometimes Mum will have to wheedle,
In his bum, sometimes his tum,
Injecting’s never really fun

But on the upside I must say,
The outlook’s better every day,
Of one thing I am quite sure,
That very soon they’ll find a cure.
