DIABETES ESSAY AND POEM COMPETITION 2009

Olivia 31/03 14 She's just the same as them

People look at her and they think,
Yeah she’s a normal girl,
She goes out with her mates,
Swims for her town,
And does dances exams,
She does well in school.
And loves her friends,
But if you look deep inside,
She’s a little bit different,
Her heart is fine,
And her bones don’t squeak,
It’s her pancreas,
It doesn’t produce the insulin she needs,
She tests her bloods,
She has an injection with every meal,
Her friends don’t mind,
Because to them,
She’s just the same as them.
