DIABETES ESSAY AND POEM COMPETITION 2009

Sarah 18/03 13 Diabetes Poem

I love to sing and dance,
but with regular hypos,
i don't get the chance,
Blood testing can be a drain,
and leaves your fingers in a bit of pain,
Insulin isn't that bad,
but then and again it leaves you sad.
The sugar leaves my teeth in a bad state,
i guess i am filling bait,
DAFNE, is really cool,
but kids annoy me at school,
They say i inject illegal drugs,
This comes from them the thugs,
writing this poem has been quite fun,
when i am finished i should have a bun,
What i would give to be normal again,
i say this stuff on days at end,
OK, so it is no big deal,
but that depends on how i feel.
