DIABETES ESSAY AND POEM COMPETITION 2009

Max 12/02 12 Don't Let Diabetes Beat You

So this is Diabetes,
What a scary name,
Was diagnosed last Tuesday,
But its not such a pain.

When I heard that word,
I went weak at the knees,
I turned to my mum
and begged NO PLEASE!

The next day, it was O.K!
'Cause I'd heard research was on its way,
So don't be sad, it's not that bad,
It may be taken away.

I've been shown my path
By the WONDERFUL STAFF!
So thanks to Kirsten, Suzie, Julie and Loraine,
I know my route away from pain.

I have a family so strong and true,
So we'll pull together and see it through.

DON'T LET DIABETES BEAT YOU!
