Some funny stories.
text

i am joe, 15 years old and had diabetes since i was nine i think, i can't really remember too well any date. during my time as a diabetic my old friends and some random people have said some very funny things to me. Most of them are incorrect and a few are quite funny. my (old) friend kept making fun of me whilst i was having a hypo calling me a "mongy" because i had to go outside the classroom and have some snacks. eventually he got bored and stopped. After the summer holidays one time though, he went up to the teacher and showed her a medical card (our school gets medical cards as a pass to go out of class for a medical reason) and walked out the classroom stumbling. i was slightly confusd as i never knew their was anything "wrong" with him. Anyway, it kept happening and eventually i saw him doing his injection in the medical office doing an injection, that was exactly the same style pen as mine. he looked straight through me as i jus sat there and smiled as he felt awkward. i knew at that point he was diabetic and we haven't talked since.

i started playing rugby three years ago and on my first session which my friend took me down to and the coach came up to me and started talking to me and eventually we got to talking about diabetics so i told him that i was diabetic. As you can imagine, a rugby coach is pretty big, now he was shouting at me and all i can recall from that converation really is me wiping his saliva of my forehead. The general gist of the conversation (or monologue) was that i can't play rugby because im diabetic. however, although i was never picked for any games i went training for a whole year and eventually in the next season i was a regular player, now i'm the captain as it is a whole team decision as to who should be the captain. My coach still hasn't said anything to me about it
