my name is kelly-marie and i have suffered with type 1 diabetes which is where i have to take insulin because my pancrease does not work properly. you have alot or responsability's when you have diabetes because you have to look after yourself more than a normal person. some people think that missing a dose of there insulin is better to loose wieght but you shouldnt do that because you can loose your eye sight. if you dont look after it properly then you can also go into a koma and have really really high sugar levels(sugar levels are what you check to see how much insulin you need to put into your body) there are loads of things that my mum needed to no because she had no idea what you do because i am the only diabetic in my family. you cant have much chocolate but if you have loads of chocolate and you turn into a diabetic it would be really hard not to have any because you would be use to eating it but for me i dont care if i dont get any because not used to eating things like that. you dont have to miss out on chocolate because if you go into places like boots you can get diabetic chocolate .
