My life with diabetes.
text

There I was a healthy 8 year old boy who loved to run about and didn't eat much chocolate at all but one day on July 31st 2004 I became a dibetic. I had an unbelievable quench for juice and didn't eat much when I was out with my friends I always came back for the toilet then a drink then back to my friend then back for the toilet then a drink then to my friend over and over again but one day I wnet to the Doctors to see if he could help me because my Nana could tell there was something wrong with me so the doctor got a needle pricked my finger ( it hurt by the way ) and he checked my blood and he said I hate to say but your grandson has got a condition called type 1 diabetes he said I would have to go to the hospital immediatly so we did.

I was scared getting on the bus knowing every second we were getting closer and closer to the hospital I did not like hospitals then when we got there I had to go into a room and they took some blood from me to see how much sugar I had in me he said it was 34.4 I said how is that bad he said back that it was bad for diabetic for his or her sugar to be high I said ok he said to my gran that if I had waited any longer to get to the hospital I would have been seriously ill I was glad then when I heard that that I had came to the hospital. after a little while we went up to a childrens ward were I met a nurse called Fiona Clark she said Hello Jamie I siad hi bla bla bla she said to my gran that she would have to give me a jag I heard and said no I dont want the jag I hate jags so some other nurses had to hold me down while she gave me the jag after that I was so hungry I could have eatin a horse I had a sandwich and ate it all they had to keep me in for a couple more weeks then I could go. when we got home for a couple of weeks I would be told everything that I could eat not eat do not do and everything else.

As the years progressed I had started off with 2 jags then onto 3 then 2 again now at the age of 12 I am on 4 jags on at breakfast and at luche 2 at dinner and that is 4 all day .#I have had acouple of hyps at school I must say from everything that has ever happened to me a hypo is the worst it has theworst felling ever and when you are hungry it is bad as well also I halucianate it is bad its like being in a dream but living it it is weird. my Laisone nurse Fiona Clarke has really helped me with all my problems and my diabetic Doctor he was really funny and also helped me rght now I am the one of the top 10 diabetics in Scotland with good control of my sugars all year round. Some people say that Diabetes is bad they are right but some other good things come out of it like keeping healthy cause you cant eat chocolategetting to eat in school ( he he he )but all in all it isnt tnat bad and we will all have to get used to it as we have it for the rest of our lives.
