DIABETES ESSAY AND POEM COMPETITION 2010

Kelly 08/06 15 A race with diabetes.

The sun is shining
The world is spinning
The race is today
And I am still winning

It’s the morning
And I take a shot
But it wont change things
I’ll still give it all I’ve got

I am diabetic
But I am still the same
When I first got it
I didn’t know who to blame

Now everyone acts just right
And I am very happy
Im off to my race
As this all sounds very sappy

Its nearly time to race
And I am feeling a bit low
I’ll just have little bit of sugar
It will never make me slow

Three seconds until the start
And I’m sure I’m a winner
One mile to go
And I’m sure to get thinner

Warn out and tired
But I am in the lead
Nearly the end
And food is my need

Its all over
And I need another shot
I get a big shiny trophy
THANKS A LOT ! :)
