DIABETES ESSAY AND POEM COMPETITION 2010

Abigail 18 /05 12 ?.

I won't let diabetes rule my life, I never ever will, No matter if it all goes wrong, I'll keep on fighting still, And even if the doctors say, You've got a rubbish HBA1C I nod my head and get on with it, I mean, it doesn't matter to me.

Of course I look after myself,
But I won't let it get in my way,
'Cause otherwise I'd be sad,
And theres no point in that ANYWAY.
So when I'm older and anyone says "NO."
'Cause I've got diabetes,
I'll just turn away and say,
"You don't deserve me ANYWAY."

So don't worry if you get it,
'Cause, okay, it's not that great,
But if you always look at it half-empty, It gets worse as it gets late.

So hey-ho,
Life goes on,
