DIABETES ESSAY AND POEM COMPETITION 2010

Emma 01/05 11 Diabetes.

Bloodied fingered,
Tummy Bruised,
Stained test strip
and urine I loose.

Needle set,
Units chosen,
Inject it in
Girl, I'm not posing.

Blood sugar high,
Blood sugar low,
Get them right
And don't be slow.

Sitting around,
Or excercising,
Check them bloods
Or you'll be crying.

Your better high than low,
But better normal than high,
A high is above 10.0
When I'm high I give a sigh.
A clinic check is in order,
Overall blood,
Excellent control?
DAMN, Thats good!

Change that pump,
When you have to,
But don't worry
You leave on when you go the loo.

Study the package,
Count the carbs,
Chips and rice
its not that hard!
