DIABETES ESSAY AND POEM COMPETITION 2010

Beth 14/04 11 My life begins again.

For I am diabetic
But there’s no proof its genetic
I am not on my own
There is always help on the end of a phone
So I know I am never alone
Having to inject sometimes causes me to moan
I have to make sure I eat my meal
I never thought it was such a big deal
I like to play a lot of sport
Especially on the netball court
Extra testing I have to sort
But it doesn’t stop me scoring so the score is never nought
I joined Skids To chat and discuss Without the adult fuss
The life I had is in the past
Diabetes is here to last
I have learned to live and cope
You don’t have to sit and mope
