DIABETES ESSAY AND POEM COMPETITION 2010

Emma 27/03 11 How can this be.

How can this be?
A person like me, Having to test before my tea?
Every meal and every snack
Why can’t they see I’ll never be free?

Why can’t I play around with my friend’s, When my diabetes goes round the bend?

It’s like nobody else has got it only me How can this be?

Does anyone really understand?
How I feel in this diabetic land?

Now I know this can be
I’m not the only me
Living with that word beginning with D!
